Guildford Cathedral Coffee Concert

June 13, 2024

All are welcome to come and join us for our June Coffee Concert.

This month, we look forward to welcoming the University of Surrey’s Chamber Choir. The choir directed by Professor Jeremy Barham is one of the University’s premier classical music ensembles. The Chamber Choir performs regularly throughout the academic year at a variety of venues. We are looking forward to listening to several wonderful pieces of music including ‘Three Hungarian Folk Songs’ by Mátyás Seiber (1905–60) and ‘Home I want to go home’ which was written specially for the choir by Odaline de La Martinez, and the choir will be singing this at the performance.

Teas and coffees are served from 10.30am | concert begins at 11.15am and finishes at 12 noon, just in time for lunch!

All are welcome to this free concert, no need to book, and free parking.

Seasons Café will be open for a delicious lunch, and our gift shop is open for a browse for any special present buying.

Guildford Cathedral is a place of prayer, reflection, work and celebration, held in particular affection by the many thousands of people who helped build it by buying a brick. There is much to offer to visitors and to those who are looking for a church community to call home. All regular weekday and Sunday services are open to all. The beautiful building and the excellent choral tradition contribute to making our Cathedral a place to which, once visited, you will want to return. As well as the rhythm of daily worship we maintain a regular programme of arts, events, lectures, workshops, exhibitions and concerts. We aim to be a welcoming place – open to God, open to all.
